Are you suitable for laser eye surgery?

Before you can have laser eye surgery - you will need to know if you are suitable. Fortunately, this part of the pain-free process costs nothing but your time, and is conducted by the surgeon who will be performing your treatment. Call us on 0113 350 4802 to book your free consultation.

suitability
Basic suitability requirements
  • You should be at least 21 (there is no upper age limit)
  • Have a suitable prescription within the range of correction (shortsight or longsight with or without astigmatism)
  • Have healthy eyes and good general health
  • Have realistic expectations
LASIK
Roughly 10% of people are not suitable for LASIK
  • If at the consultation, we find that you are not suitable for LASIK, the next best option is a surface procedure (otherwise known as PRK, LASEK or Epi-LASEK)
  • Some prescriptions are too high for laser eye surgery, if you are in this category, then the next best option are intra-ocular lenses.
  • We'll determine your suitability for any of these procedures at the consultation, and discuss the benefits and risks of each.
